OUR YOUTH PATHWAY
We’re building a new, easier way for young people to access free mental health therapy. Right now, those aged 16-18 are stuck between CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) and AMHS (Adult Mental Health Services), and it can be hard to get the right support.
Working with GPs and therapists, we’re creating a new pathway where young people can be directly referred by their GP to free therapy sessions—no long waits, no confusion.
With your support, we can:
Ease the pressure on CAMHS by offering an alternative route to support
Cover the full cost of therapy for the young person
Make access simple, direct, and stigma-free
Run events to raise awareness and reduce the stigma around mental health
Set up a local youth mentoring program to create a strong, supportive community
Our goal is to strengthen what already exists and make sure no young person slips through the cracks.
We need your support
When Smls was first conceptualised, our aim was to create a safe platform that the community could support and see as its own. That is why we have become a Community Interest Company (CIC); a company that is built and supported by the community, specifically to support young people within that community.
Becoming a CIC also gives us the benefit of being governed by an independent regulator. Our hope is that this gives clarity to our intentions and confidence in our vision. You can find out more about CICs and the Regulatory here: Community Interest Company
You can help by getting involved in our events, purchasing goods from our local sponsors and donating directly via this page.
Our new pathway is a cause absolutely worthy of your support - please contribute if you can!
